Jean Watson is a theorist and a professor of nursing who is well known for Theory of human caring. She has authored many texts, like Nursing: The Philosophy and Science of Caring. Her research work on caring has been recognized by many people and they are incorporated at nursing schools and hospitals across the world. She was born on June 10, 1940 in West Virginia. Watson did her graduation in year 1961 from the Lewis Gale School of Nursing which is located in Roanoke, Virginia. She further continued her education and earned a B.S. in 1964 from University of Colorado. She did her M.S. in year 1966 in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and PhD. in educational psychology in year 1973. Around the world she has been awarded with nine honorary doctoral degrees in six different countries. She is a professor of nursing at University of Colorado and she also formerly served as Dean to school of nursing. She had been past president of National League of Nursing and in the year 1999 she was awarded with Norman Cousins Award by Fetzer Institute. She is also the founder of Watson Caring Science Institute which was established in year 2008.            I am inspired by the life of Jean Watson for her understanding about nursing, not many people in past have given much importance to nursing. ( Hutchinson & Jackson 2013) But Dr Watson have realised that nursing is a subject of greater understanding, it is not just an assistance that is offered to doctors in order to run health care facilities.
